GoLabel 1.1

Though designed to integrate and work seamlessly with GoDEX bar code printers, GoLabel can actually be used to design, save, and print all kinds of labels, tickets, address tags, passes, etc. It supports nearly all known 1D and 2D labels, and the fact that you can add graphics and text to your barcodes, QR codes, maxicodes, or DataMatrix codes (among others) makes it suitable for a much wider range of applications.

GoLabel works using a WYSIWYG approach, which makes it not only highly intuitive but also suitable for all kinds of users. All you have to do is set up the page dimensions and layout (Page Setup pops up automatically as soon as you launch the program), pick the kind of label you need from the menu on the left-hand side of the main interface, and set the code values and size. You can later modify the dimensions of all the objects on the label using your mouse instead.

When it comes to barcode types, GoLabel covers an extensive list of one- and two-dimensional types. Among the most widely used are Code 39 and 93, EAN 8/13, UPC A/E, Codabar, Code 128, and EAN 128, while QR codes, DataMatrix Codes, Maxicodes, Aztec codes, PDF417, and Micro PDF are some examples of its 2D code list.

You can add all kinds of simple graphics and drawings to your labels, such as squares, lines, rectangles, symbols, icons, logos, etc., as well as any image stored on your computer (PCX, PNG, BMP, WMF, EMF, ICO, and JPG are the image file types supported). You can add text as well, if needed, and combine and align all of these objects intuitively just by dragging and moving them with your mouse.

When it comes to printing your labels, it is only natural that GoLabel works better with all GoDEX printers. This does not prevent you from using it to design labels for other types of printers, or simply save them as a high-quality graphic file for use in other graphic environments. Either way, GoLabel is a free and very intuitive tool for code and label design that I can but recommend to anyone in need of a simple and costless design solution for all kinds of barcodes.
